Spring is right around the corner and has already arrived in the fashion world. Off –the-shoulder tops are still making a strong appearance but new trends that will dominate this spring and summer include slouchy but romantic one shoulder tops, a heavy dose of stripes done with a contemporary flair and florals, flowing as lovely as ever. Also look for bra tops, updated oxfords, neon, ruffles and ties/laces.
Sleeves
Sleeves, sleeves and sleeves!! They are having a major moment. Bell sleeves, bell cuffs, ruffles on the sleeves, tons of variations. Take a plain white long sleeve t-shirt and add bell cuffs and you are on trend! This is a generation-less trend which I love. Regardless of your age, you can enjoy this trend.
Stripes
I am personally excited about this ‘trend’ because I think this is the most classic trend I have seen (oxymoron??). You will see more than your traditionally preppy retailers like J. Crew or Vineyard Vines master stripes. Bold and bright stripes as well as gorgeous textures (sequins and pleats) can brighten the traditional subdued stripe. Stripes will be done in creative ways to awaken and catch your eye.
Garden Party
Spring 2017 will demonstrate fresh florals. They will be displayed in unabashed femininity with varying lengths, along with ruffles and flowing sleeves. I chose this dress to wear to an upcoming wedding I have. I feel beautiful in it, but know it won’t overshadow the bride. I love the motion of the skirt and adore the timeless component of embroidered flowers.
